ELK CREEK, Calif. – The Bureau of Reclamation announces summer operating hours at Stony Gorge and East Park reservoirs, located respectively 18 miles west of Willows and 20 miles west of Maxwell.
Stony Gorge’s expanded operating hours begin on April 15 and East Park opens April 21. Colusa County manages East Park Reservoir and the 1,600 acres of adjacent parkland. As customary, Colusa County is waiving the entrance fee at East Park the first week.
Stony Gorge Reservoir recreation area facilities include:
Skippers’ Point Day Use Area
his day use area is available for fishing, hiking, wildlife watching, and picnicking from sunrise until sunset throughout the year.
Slip Disc, Disc Golf Course
The disc golf course is open and available from sunrise until sunset throughout the year.
Pines Day Use Area
This day use area is available for hiking, fishing, wildlife watching, and picnicking from sunrise until sunset throughout the year.
Skippers’ Point Boat Launch
The boat launch is open from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. throughout the year.
Pines Group Site
The Pines Group Site will reopen for camping on April 15 at 1 p.m. and accommodates up to 50 people. Reserve Pine Group Site for $75 per night at www.recreation.gov/.
General Camp Sites
1 - 25 camp sites will re-open for camping on April 15 at 1 p.m.
