Mat Maucieri is the Bureau of Reclamation’s senior advisor for operations. In this role he is the principal management advisor to the Deputy Commissioner for operations and guides Reclamation’s water and power policy priorities to shape regional programs and address critical water scarcity issues.
Mat has worked in both operations and externally oriented positions since joining Reclamation in 2006 and most recently served as the assistant deputy commissioner for operations. He is Reclamation’s co-lead on implementation of the historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) and spearheaded Reclamation’s ongoing efforts to allocate $8.3 billion in BIL funding for projects across the 17 Western states, Puerto Rico and Hawaii.
Mat is originally from Sacramento, California, is a graduate of the University of California at Davis and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Prior to joining Reclamation, he worked for the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA), and prior to that as a legislative aide in the California State Assembly. He resides with his wife and two sons in Alexandria, Virginia.
