Vista of Lake Mohave, Davis Dam and the Colorado River

With a vista of Lake Mohave, Davis Dam and the Colorado River, a hike along one of the Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park and Trail paths can be very rewarding. Also in the distance near the river is one of the main recreation areas of the Park and Trail.

Realty Specialist Jason Kirby checks the growth on a cottonwood tree

At a reclaimed and enhanced picnic area along the trail and near the river, Realty Specialist Jason Kirby checks the growth on a cottonwood tree where tamarisk trees were uprooted, chipped into mulch, and later used as ground cover on the equestrian portion of the trail. Where invasive vegetation once held reign, young native plants are thriving. Davis Camp and Davis Dam can be seen in the distance.

Delivering 880 tons of rock for use as riprap to reduce the effects of erosion on the very sandy soil

Early this month, four trucks made recurring visits to an area near Davis Dam, delivering 880 tons of rock for use as riprap to reduce the effects of erosion on the very sandy soil on portions of the Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park and Trail.

One by one, each truck delivered its load until the order had been filled.
